A California Private School
Independent Study Program
K - 12

BayShore School’s philosophy is to empower each family so that they may develop the best approach by which to nurture their children’s education.

We do not require, nor do we provide, a specific curriculum. Rather, our role is to assist families in their quest to meet the individual needs of each child, while staying within the parameters set forth by the California Education Code.

BayShore School offers resources, guidance, and encouragement to its enrolled families. We do not offer a program for those who need detailed lesson plans or daily supervision. Enrollment with BayShore School requires self-motivation, the desire to release rigid notions about learning and children, and a sense of humour.

Student/family must have access to and use email. No exceptions.

11th and 12 th grade students accepted only if transferring from another independent study program or by permission of the BayShore School director.

There is an additional charge of $30.00/student charge for those who need entertainment permits processed ($30.00/per student for each application completed). While BayShore School does accommodate children in the entertainment business, we are unable to sign the academic/health/attendance release at the same time as initial enrollment. That form requires the enrolling school to attest to satisfactory progress in these areas and we do not have that information available on new students. We are able to sign the entertainment permit form once the student has been enrolled with BayShore and we have either: a) received transcripts from the child's previous school; and/or b) the required attendance and academic reports have been submitted to BayShore at the regularly scheduled due dates. Submit the $30.00 with your initial enrollment application.
